The month of February was filled with all things heart health – starting on February 1st when the team at The Strand location dressed in red in support of The Cayman Heart Fund Day and marking the beginning of Heart Month. Heart Month is celebrated every February to help raise awareness around cardiovascular disease.
The rest of February passed by in a flurry of cardio starting with the Valentine Mile sponsored by Kirk Freeport taking place at Bayshore Mall on February 10th. Funds raised went to the Cayman Islands YMCA. The weekend of February 23rd and 24th was busy as members of the team participated in the Guiding Your Way 5k walk in support of Girl-Guiding Cayman Islands. Kirk Freeport is extraordinarily proud of Odie for taking 3rd place in the Off the Beaten Track 50 KM Ultramarathon!!
March 21st was World Down Syndrome Day, members of the Kirk Freeport team participated in the global event by wearing funky long socks to work. The goal of the event is to raise awareness on what Down syndrome is, to advocate for the rights, inclusion and overall well being for those with Down Syndrome.
